Christmas and New Year enhancements

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and we’re really grateful to those that are able to give up their time over Christmas and New Year to help make Christmas truly special for the people we support.

To recognise this, for those able to cover certain shifts during the festive period*, we’ll pay an enhanced rate in addition to any other premiums.

Frequently asked questions

Do Christmas / New Year enhancements only apply on the dates listed?: Yes, they only apply on those dates specified in the Christmas and New Year 2022 / 23 pay rates download, but evening / weekend and overtime premiums continue to apply on all other days.
Will evening / weekend and overtime premiums be paid in addition to Christmas / New Year enhancements on these dates?: Yes, where hours worked meet the eligibility criteria for either or both the evening / weekend and overtime premiums, these will be paid in addition to the Christmas / New Year enhancements.
Will I be paid the Christmas and New Year enhancements if I cover care and support hours on these dates?: Yes, they will be paid for any overtime hours above their contracted hours worked on shift, delivering care and support on these dates.
