Make a real difference to someone’s life!

Are you the kind of person who thrives on making others feel valued? Are you a positive, honest and compassionate person who is good at understanding other people?

If this sounds like you and you would like the chance to make a real difference to other people’s lives, then Elmsmead at Voyage Care is the place for you to work. We are actively looking for Support Workers to provide care and support for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.

Elmsmead is a large Victorian building with lovely original features, located in the centre of Taunton with access to all different locations via train, car or bus. We are also very close to Junction 25 off the M5!

Here, we support people with learning disabilities and complex behaviours.

As a support worker at Elmsmead you will contribute to delivering great person centred care to all the people we support through motivation and empowerment, encouraging a productive quality of life and enabling them to fulfil their wishes.

It’s a great opportunity to support people in some of their favourite things and trying out new opportunities means it rarely feels like you’re actually doing work! These include horse riding, attending sensory activities, having days out, helping out at voyages very own wildlife project and visiting local places of interest. We endeavour to fulfil people needs and wishes, all activates are chosen by the individual partaking.

The work can be challenging but the rewards of supporting people to achieve their goals make every day meaningful.

The individuals we support at this service enjoy a lot of community access, so confidence in lone working is essential.  We are therefore looking for Support Workers with previous experience who can hit the ground running. However we will still provide a full training programme that is specific to the needs of the individuals we support.

We offer a great range of benefits including an employee assistance programme, which provides independent advice and support 24 hours a day. We also offer a pension scheme and a retail discount package with some great offers spanning from holiday discounts to gym memberships. Our employees can also make use of salary sacrifice schemes such as Childcare Vouchers and Cycle to Work.

To find out more, contact us via email or call us on 01543 484696.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the people we support. All successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS/PVG check and Regulated Activity which will include a check against the Barred adult list.
