Voyage Care is seeking to employ and develop a team of specialist male Support Workers to work at our brand-new Supported Living Service in Scarborough. About the Role:

In this specialist role, you will be supporting a complex young man with a variety of needs to manage his Autism, ADHD and associated ‘risky’ behaviours. Your focus will be to ensure his day to day welfare and safety, with an emphasis on creating opportunities to develop his life skills and improve his overall quality of life. This will include some degree of practical help in terms of general housekeeping, personal care/hygiene, meal planning/preparation and budgeting, as well as supporting a healthy community presence through social, recreational and sport related activities.  

Hours:

Due to the nature of the role you will need to have a flexible approach to your work and be able to commit to working both days and/or nights with the expectation to work some weekends.

Skills/Training:

Ideally, you will have experience of working with young adults in a health and social care setting or previously have worked as a mentor/life coach. Successful applicants will receive robust comprehensive training and a shadowing schedule to develop their confidence and skills.
