Job Title:  Female Support Worker

Location: Middleton

Role Overview:-

Voyage Care are currently recruiting for  Support Workers to work in supported living service in Middleton

As a Support Worker you would be supporting individuals with autism and learning disabilities to do a range of different tasks and activities. This could include going swimming, to the cinema, shopping, baking, attending discos, going for meals, supporting with personal care, finances and attending health appointments. 

It is a shift based role, flexibility is essential. The flexibility around your working patterns can include flexible working agreements to accommodate your own personal circumstance. All requests will need to be around the needs of the scheme. Successful candidates will need to undertake sleep ins and be able to work split shift patterns. Some of the support provided will be either on a one to basis or 2 to 4 basis within their home.              

Requirements:-

Your duties will also include:

  • Organising activities and attending all kinds of social functions.
  • Being part of a team on activities ranging from cinema visit to supporting people to go on holidays.
  • Liaising with family for visits, and being on hand to support any visits.  
  • Lone working is part of the job role either in the scheme or out in the community.
  • To manage weekly shopping in line with healthy eating, and following advice and guidance from health care professionals in this area.

 

  • Helping the people we support to learn new skills and to develop there existing skills.
  • Assisting with day to day tasks around their home. Assisting with laundry, cooking, and the running of their homes.           
  • Ensuring the people we support are encouraged to reach their full potential.
  • Supporting our clients to live as independently as possible.
  • Providing personal care.
  • Moving and handling needs
  • Support with medication and complex clinical needs.
  • Companionship.
  • Support to access activities and socialise with others.

The individuals we support enjoy a lot of community access, so confidence in lone working is essential.  We are therefore looking for Support Workers with previous experience who can hit the ground running. However we will still provide a full training programme that is specific to the needs of the individuals we support.

You’ll join the team working on a rota that includes early, late, weekend, night and Bank Holiday shifts.
