Location: Hartlepool, County Durham

Pay Rate (£): 8.80-9.20

Shift patterns – Days 0800- 2000 and 10.15 – 19.00, Nights 20.00 – 08.00 and 22.00 – 08.00 (sleep shift allowance 22.00 till 06.00)

Starting Wage - £8.80 per hour

About this Job –

An exciting opportunity has arisen for support worker to provide care to an adult (male) with high clinical needs, personal care, assistance with medication, support with meals and food preparation, all aspects of moving and assisting within the home and accessing the community of Hartlepool and the surrounding area.

Dynamic, quick thinking and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations is essential as this client can become unwell quickly which will require fast, accurate action to be taken for him to remain safe.

You will contribute to the effective and efficient delivery of care for the client and maintain positive relationships with his family and significant others.

Your role will be to ensure that the adult has all needs met at home and his life is as independent as possible.

You will be required to follow the instructions of the care plan ensuring dignity, respect and safety is upheld. Full, supervised, bespoke training will be provided in the form of office theory learning and on the job practical teaching.

The post holder will need to be dynamic, innovative, forward thinking and confident to sensitively challenge conventional thinking.

You will also be required to:

  • Communicate effectively with the company, client and their families.
  • To record and report on all Health and care needs and concerns.
  • To ensure that additional needs receive appropriate care as directed from the specialists involved in their care.
  • To attend and participate in mandatory training as directed by company policy and the clinical manager.
  • Be aware of the national, regional and company policies and procedures relating to Safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection and report concerns to an appropriate person.
  • Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the company
  • Demonstrate and promote commitment to equal opportunities and to the elimination of behaviour and practices that could be discriminatory.

 

  • To provide clinical support such as:

 

  • Management and administration of Medications
  • Manage and administer emergency medications
  • Use of various additional clinical equipment ie: Ventilation, suction, tracheostomy management, catheter care
  • Moving and handling needs
  • Maintain accurate and confidential health records
  • Driver with their own car is desirable but not essential but ideally own driving license as client has own vehicle.

Previous experience is advantageous but not essential as all of our HCA’S receive training tailored to the needs of the people they support which is fully funded by Voyage. What’s more you’ll be paid to attend all of your training courses and receive great rewards.
