*** Full Time Male Support and Enablement Worker Required ***

To provide active support to people in a way that is respectful, promotes their independence and enables the individual to realise their potential. This will include supporting individuals in accessing the community and other settings as required. Support & Enablement workers work with the pws as part of a small team.

You will be required to provide support to individuals who may have a variety of needs and conditions. These may include learning disability,, autism, and behaviors that challenge.

Duties:

  • Communicating with the individuals you support using preferred and/or recommended communication methods.

  • Assisting with all aspects of the individuals’ care and planned interventions.

  • Participating in the development and implementation of individuals’ support plans in order to encourage the people you support to take an active role in all aspects of daily living and ensure the appropriate level of individual care and support is provided.

  • Supporting the planning and delivery of person centred meaningful engagement within the framework of Positive Behavioural Support (PBS). This includes skill development relating to education, paid or unpaid work, leisure and recreational interests, with the overall objective to improve independence and Quality of Life (QOL).

  • Undertaking activities and tasks in the service and community.

  • Accurately record and complete any appropriate documentation in order to ensure that individuals’ records are clear.

  • Administering medication

 

Experience of working with complex individuals who display challenging behaviours and may have an associated mental health condition.

The individuals we support enjoy a lot of community access, so confidence in lone working is essential.  We are therefore looking for Support Workers with previous experience who can hit the ground running. However we will still provide a full training programme that is specific to the needs of the individuals we support.

You’ll join the team working on a rota that includes early, late, weekend, night and Bank Holiday shifts.
