Lytham, St Annes, Lancashire.

£11.50 per hour

Voyage Care have a new vacancy for a Community Senior Support Worker: based in Preston, you will join our new DCA, at what is a really exciting time within our business.

As a Community Senior Support Worker, you may be required to work alone with the people you support or as part of a team, and may be required to provide support in any location appropriate to meet the needs of the service.

Role Overview:

You will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of person centred support plans, and ensuring high quality support is being provided to each of the people that we support. Carrying out other duties designated by the Field Support Supervisor or relevant line manager which include delegation of duties to support workers, you will also promote good practice at all times and act as an effective and positive role model. 

Reporting to and under the instruction of the Field Support Supervisor: your role will consist of the following key area's:

  • Assisting with the day to day supervision and management of the service, including participating in the recruitment and induction of new staff.
  • Participating, planning and running of the day to day events of the service in accordance with the choices of the people you support.
  • Ensuring all policies and procedures and specific contractual compliance applicable to the service and the company are followed and understood in order to comply with regulations, commissioning  and good practice
  • Recording and completing any appropriate documentation in order to ensure that individuals’ records, observations or research results are accurate and informative.
  • Undertaking and/or assisting individuals with household activities such as cooking, mealtimes, laundering and cleaning in order to promote a healthy environment for the people you support and the promotion of independent living.


We are keen to attract experienced staff who can "hit the ground running" and want to progress in their career development. - Good knowledge of the Transforming Care Programme 

  • Minimum of NVQ Level 3 Qualification in Health & Social Care or a willingness to work towards.

  • Excellent communication and written skills inclusive of: assessment, report writing and organisational skills.

  • Experience of working in partnership with people with diverse needs, both service users and carers; and colleagues and providers.

  • Ability to organise your own time and work to deadlines. 

  • Be a great team player and communicator
  • Have a warm and friendly personality
  • Have a respectful and sensitive communication style
  • Be self-motivated, with a can do attitude
  • Full UK driving Licence with access to a vehicle is desired
