We currently have a new and exciting opportunity for an MI Analyst to join our Finance Team, based at our Head Office in Lichfield.

Reporting to the Head of FP&A, the MI Analyst will use the QlikView tool to create reporting and dashboards provide management information (MI) to enable the business to be managed effectively and efficiently.

The successful candidate will be logical and analytical, forward thinking in their approach and possess good influencing and communication skills. They will be able to assimilate data quickly and produce succinct, easy to read MI and analysis that makes a real difference to the operation of the company. They will enjoy working to agreed objectives and timescales, deadlines and be flexible in dealing with changing priorities and working with colleagues across all functions.

The successful candidate will join an existing experienced MI Analyst in what will be a two person team reporting to the Head of FP&A.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing MI to be delivered through the QlikView business reporting tool which supports and improves operational and administrative performance of the company.
  • Liaising with users to define their MI requirements. Review current reporting methods, processes and layouts and refine requirements and pro-actively identify and recommend improvements.
  • Creating prototype reports, charts and dashboards in to refine the design, clarify the sources of data and define key performance indicators
  • Producing dashboards containing tables, charts and other metrics in QlikView (v12.10)
  • Working with users to refine the look, layout and accuracy of the QlikView reports and dashboards, achieving final sign-off of the solution
  • Trouble-shooting anomalies that are reported or observed in the created dashboards and reports
  • Documenting the implemented solutions, creating and maintaining user guides
  • Providing training to end-users on new dashboards or features
  • Identifying new ways of reporting and analysing the business to enhance reporting, recommending new reports and dashboards.
  • Liaising with internal IT departments:
    • IT Development – arranging for new links to be created to existing data sources, trouble-shooting problematic areas and arranging for publication of ‘Test’ and ‘Live’ reports.
    • IT Support – keeping IT Support team updated on latest developments, plans for ‘Go Live’ and additional licence requirements.
  • Liaising with external IT providers:
    • Trouble-shooting problematic areas that are unable to be resolved internally or that the supplier is uniquely placed to help with.

 

 

Key requirements:

 

  1. Experience in developing MI tools in line with customer and organisational requirements, ideally using Qlikview;
  2. Ability to prioritise and manage own workloads;
  3. Excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing;
  4. Possess a pro-active, problem solving and analytical mindset;
  5. Ability to work with and model using large datasets / Advanced Excel skills. Programming experience would be beneficial.
