**12 month Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)

Job Purpose

The purpose of the role of the Internal Communications Executive (Maternity Cover) is to support the continued development and delivery of a content led, audience-centric internal communications programme to engage employees across the business, supporting the delivery of great care and support to over 3,500 individuals with learning disabilities. This role requires strong writing and editorial skills.

Key Accountabilities

  • Identify and develop engaging and compelling campaigns and content to be used across a range of channels, such as magazines, intranet, social media and blog posts for both internal and external audiences.
  • Lead the production of the organisation’s quarterly magazine, Zest.
  • Proactively network internally in order to build trust with key internal stakeholder groups and encourage them to share content.
  • Support the successful delivery of corporate events, including assisting with the planning and project management of the annual awards programme.
  • Create high quality, engaging collateral using Adobe Creative Cloud and act as brand guardian for internal materials.
  • Report on key metrics to demonstrate ROI and effectiveness.


Person Specification


  • Exceptional writing skills with the ability to create content for a range of audiences.
  • Aptitude for events management, highly organised with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong design skills and a creative approach.
  • Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud literate, including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Works well under pressure and able to deliver quality to deadline.
  • Approachable, personable and a team player.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritise accordingly.
  • Methodical and analytical with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Availability to sometimes work outside of normal business hours with overnight stays away from home.
  • Passion for supporting people and strong diplomacy.
