Job Title: Healthcare Assistant Live In

Shift patterns – Days, Nights and Weekends – 24 to 72hrs per week to be discussed at interview. (Please note that these shifts compromise of three days on then six days off on a rolling shift pattern with exception to holidays and sickness.)

Starting Salary £8.80 per hour. (Increasing in steps up to £9.20 over a period of time)

About this Job:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Community Health Care Assistant to join a small team of staff to provide clinical care and companionship to an adult with additional medical needs within the home in the Aycliffe and surrounding areas.

You will contribute to the effective and efficient delivery of care for the patient to enable this lady to live as independently as possible

Your role will be to ensure that the person you are supporting has their personal and healthcare needs met at home.

The post holder will need to be dynamic, innovative, forward thinking and confident to sensitively challenge conventional thinking.

You will also be required to:

  • Provide full personal care
  • Managing household maintenance and domestic duties (cleaning / ironing)
  • Moving & Handling needs
  • Companionship and support to access social activities
  • Meal time support
  • Driving mobility vehicle to support this lady to access activities and days out
  • Secretarial skills and assisting with emails / bills / finance management
  • Pet care and supporting the client with her pets


Driver over 25 is essential, as they will be required to drive the client’s vehicle.

The ideal candidate will have;

  • Some experience in care but full training will be given for the right candidates.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good home management skills
  • Good home cooking skills

Previous experience is advantageous but not essential as all of our HCA’S receive training tailored to the needs of the people they support which is fully funded by Voyage. What’s more you’ll be paid to attend all of your training courses and receive great rewards.
