Role Overview

You will be responsible for ensuring the successful induction and retention of the support team, this will involve creating and participating in the induction process, including supporting staff through the care certificate. Along with acting as a bridge between the support staff and the service, ensuring effective communication between the service and the field-based teams.

You will effectively mange the support teams and will lead on the day to day supervision and development of the staff, this will include completing supervisions, appraisals, probation reviews, sickness and performance management procedures and supporting with any investigations.

In addition to staff management you will support the Clinical Team with the safe provision of support, acting as a link between staff, the people we support and the office team.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • You will work alongside the Clinical Team in ensuring we deliver high quality, safe and effective support. This will include meeting the people we support and their families and attending any meetings as requested in relation to the people we support
  • You will work with the Clinical Team to ensure all monthly charts, checklists and MAR charts are reviewed monthly and be responsible for creating the monthly packs and sending out to the people we support
  • Assist with ensuring best practice is adhered to by the service by leading on auditing, this can include auditing monthly charts and checklists, MAR charts, Daily Workbooks, Cold Harbour and personnel files. Reporting any concerns or inconsistencies to the management team
  • Lead on managing the consumables for the service, to include the ordering of stationary, uniforms and any other items requested of you
  • Lead on managing the PPE provision of the service, to include the ordering and distribution of consumables such as gloves, aprons and masks. To ensure all staff understand correct PPE requirements and the correct use of equipment, including completing/organising Donning/Doffing and Fit test training
  • Participate with the recruitment of new staff, using the relationships you have with both the people we support and support teams. To include creating job adverts, interviewing and facilitating meet and greets
  • Ensure all new staff are welcomed to the team effectively, working closely with the recruiter and trainers to ensure all staff receive a thorough induction in a timely manner, whilst ensuring the coordination team introduce staff swiftly and safely to package
  • Mentor all new starters through the Care Certificate process, ensuring this is completed within their first 12 weeks of employment. Take the lead on completing/facilitating observations and assessments and that these are recorded to evidence competence
  • Maintaining compliance and support of staff through coordination and completion of supervision, appraisal, team meetings and spot checks as per Company policy
  • Ensuring all policies and procedures applicable to the service and the company are followed and understood in order to comply with regulations and good practice.
  • To provide a service and deliver care from time to time when emergencies, or short-term requirements present such a need. This may be in the absence of any other member of staff
  • Participate in the on-call service on a rota basis, maintain appropriate records and reviewing scheduling systems.
