About this Job –

Health Care Assistant required for September 2018 to provide clinical care to children with additional medical needs within a school in the Stockton area.

Your role will be to ensure that pupils have their personal and healthcare needs met. You will be required to follow the instructions of the care plans for each individual pupil ensuring dignity and safety. You will assist in the development and implementation of individual care plans, delivering the care to the pupils as required.

You will also be required to:

  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the school
  • Work in co-operation with other key workers/professionals involved in supporting the pupils education and health needs under the guidance of the SENDCo
  • To give non-discriminatory care and support that values diverse and unique qualities of each pupil
  • To record and report on Health and care needs of the pupil
  • To ensure that children with additional needs receive appropriate NHS care and specialist services
  • Be aware of the national, regional, company and school policies and procedures relating to Safeguarding, health and safety confidentiality and data protection and report concerns to an appropriate person.
  • Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the company and school
  • Demonstrate and promote commitment to equal opportunities and to the eliminations of behaviour and practices that could be discriminatory.

To provide care of a medical nature such as:

  • Catheterisation
  • Gastrostomy (PEG) care
  • To manage and administer Medications
  • Suction
  • Blister management
  • To manager and administer emergency epilepsy medication
  • To maintain accurate and confidential health records
  • Moving and handling needs

3 month flexible moving to fixed hours after probation

Shift patterns – Monday to Friday 09:15am to 14:45pm

Driver with their own car is desirable but not essential.

The ideal candidate will have some experience in care and working with Children in a school setting, but full training will be given for the right candidates.


Previous experience is advantageous but not essential as all of our HCA’S receive training tailored to the needs of the people they support which is fully funded by Voyage. What’s more you’ll be paid to attend all of your training courses and receive great rewards.
