This role is maternity cover for the Assistant Head of FP&A (c.18 months), after which there is an option to take up a permanent role within the FP&A team.  

Providing support to the Head of FP&A, the Assistant Head of FP&A will be the ‘go-to’ person for the preparation and interpretation of financial analysis, owning both the internal & external reporting processes.

This person will be a completer finisher, have a clear logical thought process and be able to interpret complex information and present in a clear and easy to understand format, possess strong IT and data modelling skills, and be a good communicator at Director / Board level.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of the following monthly documents; Management Accounts, Board Presentations, and Overhead reporting
  • Preparation of the following quarterly / annual documents; Investor Report and Investor Presentation, Compliance certificates, CQC Market Oversight reporting and the annual Budget Presentation
  • Regular reporting for Senior Managers within the business
  • Set-up and review of the annual budget
  • Maintenance of the budgeting & reporting system (Prophix)
  • Manage bonus schemes
  • Managing the Investor website
  • Preparation of 5yr+ forecasts & Business Plans
  • Preparation of financial analysis to improve operational / financial performance of business.
  • Preparation of information for the Board, Directors and External Parties as required
  • Provide support in corporate initiatives / projects.
  • Drive continual improvement within finance function.
  • Managing the performance, training, development and appraisal of the FP&A Assistant
  • To deputise for the Head of FP&A in event of a significant Finance project, e.g. refinancing etc.





Key requirements:

  • ACA, CIMA, ACCA qualified or equivalent
  • Ability to prioritise and manage own workloads, be flexible in your working style and enjoy working to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communicator and presentation skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Possess a problem solving, analytical mindset with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work with and model using large datasets / Advanced Excel / Powerpoint
