Registered nurses play a huge part in providing professional input as part of a person-centred care plan. Nurses get involved in providing, managing, and co-ordinating clinical support for the people we support.

As well as assisting with the requirements of established support plans, you will develop nursing care plans to suit the specific needs of each individual.

Key responsibilities

  • Providing clinical input and support for staff with the development of nursing care plans.
  • Undertaking clinical procedures with the people we support in accordance with nursing care plans.
  • Maintaining and developing nursing knowledge across a range of work procedures.
  • Promoting and upholding standards of nursing care at all times.
  • Providing verbal and written reports on the progress of the people we support to the care team.
  • Providing supervision to care staff on a day-to-day basis.
  • Co-ordinating with other Health Professionals and Medical Practitioners, as required.
  • Assisting with the management of the staff team.

Miriam is a person we support at our day opportunities service, Grove Resource Centre in Surrey. She has complex needs and has spent most of her life in a wheelchair. Our Wellbeing Facilitator, helps Miriam and other people we support to feel relaxed and calm. Miriam is confident and vocal about what she enjoys and what she wants to do.

Supporting Lawrence to live his best life!

Lawrence has Cerebral Palsy and has spent most of his life in a wheelchair. Lawrence’s parents had a tour of The Grove Resource Centre and saw the fun activities they had in place.

Supporting Megan to be independent

Megan is autistic and can present with challenging behaviour. She first moved into Broadview, one of our residential care homes, in 2019. The service manager did a sensory assessment and an environmental assessment. This helped to understand Megan’s needs.
