Voyage Care supports people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and other complex needs in a range of settings across the UK.

Role Overview


The jobholder will on behalf of the National Learning and Development Centre deliver mandatory, academic, specialist and behavioural support training across the Voyage Care Group and will require travel nationwide.


As a trainer you should have a thorough knowledge of the Care Act and other legislation applicable to delivering specialist behavioural support, including the transforming care agenda. You will work closely with colleagues from the National Learning and Development Centre and operations. You should be able to work within a team and on your own initiative delivering training and developing bespoke training packages in line with the needs of the People we Support.


Key Result areas:


1. To support the Learning and Development Manager by working as a member of the team in developing and fulfilling training strategies for the company to support its business objectives.


2. To actively develop programmes of specialist and behavioural support training throughout the company to ensure the appropriate level of training to meet the company objectives.


3. To plan, implement, deliver and evaluate mandatory, specialist and behavioural support courses throughout the organisation to meet the needs of staff and the company objectives.


4. To actively participate in the delivery of training provision and development opportunities for all staff across the company, ensuring the most effective use of resources and appropriateness of delivery.


5. To provide advice, support and guidance to all service managers on specialist and behavioural support training matters and assist with the development of new services and staff throughout the organisation.


6. To contribute to all aspects of specialist and behavioural support training and assessment throughout the organisation to ensure a fully trained workforce compliant with National Minimum Standards, regulatory requirements and Policy and Procedure.


7. To develop innovative, flexible and appropriate initiatives to meet the Company’s training needs.


8. Responsibility for the induction and standardisation of internal trainers to deliver specialist behavioural support courses.


8. To liaise with the National Learning and Development Centre ensuring training programmes are in place, available corporately and locally to meet individual and service need requirements and are reviewed in line with current practice and trends.


9. Undertake training relevant to the needs of the post and according to relevant legislation.


10. As a term of employment the post holder can be required to undertake such other duties commensurate with their post and/or hours of work, as may reasonably be required of them at their initial place of work or at any other of the Company's establishments.

Education/Qualification

 

Essential - 

Currently hold or willing to undertake a MAPA instructor programme

Level 3 Award in Education & Training,PTLLS, Cert Ed, or equivalent

Desirable

Nursing Qualification (active PIN), Mental health practitioner


Relevant Health and Social Care qualification / current knowledge


Relevant management/professional qualification


Qualified VQ Assessor
