Paediatric Support Worker

Voyage Specialist Healthcare – Blackhill, County Durham

About this Job –

We are currently recruiting for a Paediatric Support Worker to support a lovely young girl born with a genetic abnormality causing profound physical and learning disabilities and severe epilepsy.  In order to help her live her daily life with family at home she needs support with epilepsy monitoring, airway management and feeding, taking medications, personal care and play.

This role is part time for someone who can work days and evenings through the week and at weekends, with the following shift patterns available:

  • 16:30-20:30hrs - Tuesday and Wednesday
  • 10:00-17:00hrs - Saturday

The person we support has the following clinical interventions:

  • Monitoring epilepsy and emergency seizure management
  • Oxygen and monitoring of oxygen levels
  • Oral suction
  • Gastrostomy feeds
  • Nebuliser Therapy
  • Medications
  • Ventilation

Previous experience is advantageous but not essential as you will receive training tailored to this person’s specific needs.
